Default Please help!

I have a 95 softail and got the newer style bullet turn signals to replace the giant stock ones. I've wired many a bike and can't figure this out for the life of me. In fact ive rewired the entire bike, and this is the last mystery. Here is the problem:

New front bullett signals have 3 wires. Black (ground?)purple (turn?)and blue (running?) Stock setup only has 2 wires. I'm guessing this is what these are from all my research. One would figure if you don't use the blue (running?) and wire black and purple up,I should be ok. When I wire it this way, all 4 turn signals are on all the time. They do blink when I hit the right or left turn button but they are always on. Why is this happening. Do I have the wiring wrong? The stock turn signals are only 2 wire. The kit I bought has rear signals that are only two wires (black and purple) no problem, plug and play. As I mentioned above, the fronts are three wires. I do not want them to run as running lights.

Please help, I'm about to just ditch them all together which will only end up in traffic tickets!

Stock set up might not have had running lights or it is body ground.

Bike never had running lights rears work fine, so can't be a ground issue
