I just bought a 90' softail custom...was missing the front turn signals. just had the wires hanging.
I bought new bullet style turn signals. When i connected the wires
the lights come on as running lights but when i press either the right or left turn button the lights go off instead of blinking.
One thing i noticed is that the lights i bought have 2 wires one black casing and the other wire has a black casing with a white stripe(i assume positive wire). both are copper colored wires on inside
Both wires on the bike have black casings - one has copper colored wires on the inside the other has silver colored on the inside.
Can anyone please help on getting the turn signals to work correctly
any help would be appreciated.
Rdizzy, look in the socket. are there 2 contacts in the bottom? If so the housing is self -grounding. And the other black wire is the blinker wire. My 94 softy is self grounding, both wires are black so i had to ring it out to see what was the blinker and what was the running. Oh ya, if theres only one contact in the base of the socket its a running light or a blinker not both.
