Electrical issue with front turn signals

Hello everyone, i've been doing a lot of reading on this site and i'm pretty stoked on it. I have a 2000 Fatboy that I just recently installed HCC 14" apes and Samson true dual longtails on. I removed the front turn signals because I cant stand them on there with apes and now when I use the left/right switches for the rears....the hazards come on only. So I wired the blue and violet wires to themselves to complete the circuit and grounded the black with no luck, i'm very wiring incompetent so can someone here point me in the right direction? Thanks

I've heard that you can't just wire them together, but you've got to install some sort of resistor so the computer or whatever still thinks there's 4 bulbs on the bike

Ok thanks, do you know what size resistor is sufficient and do all 6 wires need there own resistor?

You can pick up a load equalizer from customdynamics.com. Plug and play to the sig connector under the seat. Normally used for LED sigs, but works just as well for deleting sigs too.
