Default Look what i made!!!

I went and bought me a $10.00 digital kitchen thermometer at Academy store. Bought an oil dip stick on ebay ($3.00) and started to work (not much work). What I did was simple, cut the stick off, drilled a hole all the way through the cap, place the temperature probe through the cap, and JB weld it. Works great!!!!!
I know that I am not going to ride around with a kitchen digital thermometer on my bike. I just wanted to show how easy it is to make a self contained digital temperature gauge for softails. I ask myself why there is no product like this out there? I would certainly buy one. It does not even has to be hardwired (battery operated).
I know we have oil tank thermometers but something like this can be attached to the handlebars for easy viewing.
Anyway I just wanted to share this with you all.

Nice job, and if you don't put it on the bars you could possibly fab up a bracket to attach it by the air cleaner, or some other down low place that is an easy glance down at a stop. If it was shallow enough to fit under the dash panel you could even cut a window out and place it under, and seal around the edges. If you can make the wires long enough you can tuck them under the tank to reach, and do a quick disconnect at the cap for when you remove it.

Maybe the bracket could be fabricated from a baking tray?
