Default starter ?

hi, i did some work to my primary,new inner race ,gaskets seals and such ,had inner and outer primary off ,had it put together for 2 months ,but been snowing and crappy out ,went to start it today ,and starter just wines ,put a charger on it showed 12.7 amps,could i screwed something up putting it together ,thanks

do i have to take clutch basket off to take jackshaft off and look if installed coupling correctly, thanks

i had it off to take inner primary off ,what could i have screwed up there,dont know about this stuff

There is a coupling that has a C-clip in it. This C-clip is off-set within the coupling. See item 45 in the attachment. If this coupling is installed backwards the starter will act as you described.

thats what it was ,coupling in backwards,stupid mistake ,but cheap,my labor is cheap,thanks
