Hey y'all...I just installed some Screamin' Eagle slipons to my Fatboy Lo...Here's my question;
So the stock mufflers had two bolts on the bottom one, and four on the top (maybe that's backwards, but not important). The SE slipons I bought have only two bolts...plus, the bolt location for the new slipons only allows for one of the bolts to be attached to the frame.
I installed it fine, and it seems to be pretty sturdy, but I'm surprised that the stock had two and four bolts connecting the mufflers, yet the SE (H-D OEM, are built so that only one bolt connects.
Would appreciate any comments - is this normal, or did I miss the instructions to install some sort of adapter? I haven't asked the dealership yet, because this forum has way more info... Thanks!!
well each muffler had only two bolts...since my stock used 6, I've got 4 extra, but there's no place to use 'em if I wanted to!
btw...placement of the bolts makes it pretty rough to get a socket in there! Had to do about a couple dozen quarter-turns with the 3/8 spanner to loosen and install!
