Default Front fork

What is the difference between the 1999 41mm front forks and the 2000-2006 41mm front forks? Found a deal on some chrome sliders and wondered if the 1999 would fit the newer bike.

I believe the lowers used a different 'axle' pre 2000, so check that out.

According to parts book the part number for the axle is the same for 1999 and 2000-2006. What I am not sure about is the tabs for the brake caliper.

Sorry, I have been up since the wee hours of the day and not quite reading right. Are you saying the brake and brake tabs on 1984-1999 fork sliders are the same as the brake tabs on the 2000 and up or that the tabs on the 1984-1999 sliders are different from the 2000 and up?

Thanks for the update. The chrome pieces I was looking at are cheap enough, but if have to change out the calipers, discs, etc, its not going to be worth the cost savings.

If you're looking for chrome lowers you might check out ***** Shiny.

I got mine from him and they are outstanding!
