All good and well, but being an "old fart" I agree with the "accident waiting to happen" guys.

QUESTION: What is she going to do in an emergency stop? (And don't think there won't be one ... ever)

ANSWER: CRASH big time.

So get her to practice using the bike without having to flatfoot it all the time. I know flatfooting it is part of perceived safety, but it's not necessary. With some practice the ball of one foot should be sufficient to balance the bike.

It's all between the ears.

I too am in the "this is a bad idea camp". But if you are determined, you might want to check out Exile's Grip Ace. I believe you can set each of the buttons to a specific task. At least she could keep her hand in the correct position. http://www.gripace.com/Harleys.htm

The problem with that is uneven ground where the too short of leg rider happens to stop.

If you get her an air system, she isn't going to be adjusting it every stop.
She is going to lower it, adjust the rebound and find she is comfortable with it without the need of constant adjustments.
