Hi all, a friend has a 95 heritage softail, was told by a shop that his wining noise was the compensator sproket, i helped him replace the sproket kit and when riding the bike noticed the noise was still there, it only makes the noise when you accelerate, no noise at cruising speeds, but if you hit the throttle is starts chirping, checked a few other things and found the belt to be way too tight hardly any play at all so we adjusted the belt tension and the noise changed from a chirp to a hum, has anyone every had similar prolems, just trying to help a friend out, thanks for any help.
Sons 07 Duece had it (chirping noise)... Master Wrench at Dealership put some kind of belt dressing on the edge of the belt and it stopped making the noise..
Plus he gave the Son some of it in a small can to apply in case it came back...
