Your softail can be lowered as low as its mechanically capable of going. The shotgunshock never bottoms out and suspension lowers until swingarm comes into contact with frame, tire will not contact fender when bike is slammed.
JD- I'll be calling you, hopefully soon to come down and get a set installed.
By the way, it does not say what bike you have in your sig or Garage, but earlier bikes (prior to the 6 speed tranny) the belt sits a bit higher so lowering the bike more than 2" causes belt rubbing on the bottom of the primary.

I have thread here on that topic.
klf33, I've a 2006 Deluxe. I'm currently lowered with the Dead Creek Cycles Lowering Kit. I did notice this past weekend slight wear on the belt.
I'll check out your thread on the subject, much appreciated.

Found klf33 Thread on belt rubbing the primary case when lowered.
Thanks for the reply. My intention is to install a Heartland 250 kit on the bike and install the 240 back tire on it. From all that I have read in the last few days, it looks like the shotgun is a great way to go in order to get the consistant ride height that I want. Any adivce is certainly welcome.

JS,
I would go with the shotgun... I did on my bike. I know what you are working on and that would definitely complete the rear build you are doing. My vote is yes... you won't regret that piece and it might be one of the prouder mods when it's all said and done. can't wait to see the final product.
It's pretty much settled...I am a believer on the shotgun for a wide tire mod.
