I'll tell ya, JD and the boys put my SS on while I was in Laughlin. I was able to do an 800 mile comparison as I rode my Heritage from Reno. Awesome!! Totally different bike. And JD is an amazing dude!! You will not regret it.

Sounds like a great ride back to Reno, does bike handle better in the canyons now?

I've been doing a lot of research on the SS recently and had planned to do this after the season is over however, this post is pushing me closer to pulling the trigger now...

I haven't been able to take the bike on any twisties yet. But one of my riding buddies can tell how much better my bike rides from his bike. I will be riding it to sturgis on the 27th (for military not the actual run) and will let you all know how much better it is on twisty roads. Thanks again JD...for everything!
The SS will speak for itself but for the IRS, the quickest way to get your refund is to NOT OVERPAY. Keep your money in your pocket each week and you won't worry about those criminals sitting on it. /RANT
Got 'em. Got off work early today and rode down with my wife to see JD for the install.
The shocks are so much better than I expected. The ride is so smooth, wife said it was the best money spent on the bike.
The Shotgun Shock compared to the stock shock is like riding in a Cadillac compared to a pickup truck.
We got down to JD's shop around 5:30 - 6:00 and within minutes we felt right at home, JD is such a down to earth guy. Everybody in the shop was pleasant toward us.
We almost had a problem from the get go, I had the Dead Creek Cycle lowering kit, which entails removing the bushings on the shocks when installing the lowering collars. I hadn't thought to bring them.
JD happened to locate a set and the install was on.
JD showed us where they make various parts in house and the inner workings of the shocks as well as the assembly.
JD set us up for our ride home and I have got to say, my Deluxe was an absolute blast to ride. We just got home a little while ago after getting out of JD's shop around 8:00.
Gotta say thanks to JD and his crew for staying late on a Friday evening.
Almost forgot we got an escort from the local po-po all the way back to just before the 210 freeway, thank you goes out to the knucklehead who pulled the illegal u-turn in front of us, guess you were more interesting than me. I have a feeling I was being followed because of my LED's.
If you were thinking about getting a set, you will not regret this purchase at all. Best mod I've added bar none.
JD rocks!
