Hi! Been toying with the idea of a swing arm bag for my deuce. I found the La Rosa bags that have a quick open latch and an optional fuel bottle holder that i kind of like the idea of. I need storage but have reservations about the usability and the practicality. Does anyone have any experience with these bags? Will the latch stay closed or swing open in the wind? Are the bags good quality? If I get it, I plan to hard mount it to the swing arm.
I would hate to lay out that kind of money for junk, but what seems to be the preferred brands on the forum appear to have the snap and fake belt
type latches that I don't care for. I'm too cheap to have something custom built that I may not like, having never used one!

I have had a very negative experience with larosa 5 years ago, all indications is that the quality of their products have decreased sharply since then as well.
I will give you the best way to figure out the quality of this product.
Go to ebay and search 'bag larosa' and search 'bag la rosa', there are 662 items for sale that means for each one of those posts there is at least 10 in stock. so .. I am sure they are made somewhere that produces mass cheap stuff the quality is yours to judge.
My experience was with their customer service where they not only 'lied' to my face but when I shared my experience here on the forum, they actually send some of their friends to say nasty things until the moderators shut the thread.
There is 'NOTHING' called larosa, it is just a Chinese manufacturing front.
I won a La Rosa on ebay for $90. Compared to my LeatherWorks, it's very lacking in quality.
Much lighter weigh leather is used on the La Rosa it it just feels cheap compared to the LeatherWorks.
Agreed. The Larosa bags are ok, but definitely not the same quality as the Leatherworks and others....and we've seen a bunch of different solo bags up close while developing our hard mount kits for Softails and Dynas.
Since it's the kind of thing that you will hopefully only buy once for your bike, it makes sense to get a good quality one that will hold up for you.
I have a La Rosa on mine. I paid 130$ for it and only put it on last night. Time will tell, but I like it fine. It's going to get really dirty and really beat up really quickly.
I have a Garage Leathers bag and love it. Great quality. Had it on for 2 seasons now and plenty of miles. Looks brand new. Not the cheapest option, but I feel like this bag will last me the life of the bike. It also has real straps, not snap on underneath fake straps.
Stay away from La Rosa!!! I bought one of their bags when I first got my Night Train. Worst money I ever spent! They arer cheap and thin. Won't hold its shape for very long. I now have a Leather Works bag and love it! Spend the extra money and get a Leather Works or Garage Leathers. You will be money ahead in the long run.
