There is more money in this bike that I now have than the actual cost of the bike itself. I have 1 single build sheet bill that exceeds 17k, and yes, some of that is labor. I have every single receipt for all that has been done to this bike since it was driven off of the showroom floor. 25k is a number I have no doubt that has been put into this bike once all was added up and I have another 4k in parts sitting here waiting to be added and put on when I go back to work on the 10th of June. The bill alone for chrome is eye popping on it's own if it were all tallied up.
Same here. I thought about it the other day while riding. I'm up to around $4k now between new bars (cables and wiring), pipe, chromed wheel, many other misc accessories, powdercoating and motor work. Not stopping there though!
Slight hijack here but Hey Suntower, how much did your complete paint job run you? What kind and brand of paint did you use, the cost of the paint alone and how much paint did it take and then labor to who ever sprayed it? I'm just trying to get a few things lined up, ideas and the kind of paint I want come next fall. I know mine will be more expensive because I am not going to use my stock tins. I love this color combo and I don't want to lose it. I already have another tank now I just need a few fenders because those are going to get stretched as well. I was at a swap meet yesterday and there were used fenders left and right to choose from. Thanks for the info and again, sorry to all for the highjack.
Whatever the price I see it as peanuts for something you love. What price would of you pay on not fullfilling a dream? I coulda, shoulda, woulda.
Some people spend a lot more on a race car they can only drive at the race track. Some party all their money away, etc. I am about at $5k with engine build and restoring my 97 WG. Never a regret.
