Default General Dyno advice needed please

So I just got done installing new pipes and air cleaner assembly. Now I'd like to take it to the dealer and have them dyno it. My problem is the only option I really have to get the bike up there is to ride it up there. Will it or could it cause any damage to run it with the new pipes and cleaner without it being dyno tuned??? Haven't even started the engine and I'm dying to hear what it sounds like.

You aren't gonna hurt it. Just go easy on it until you get it tuned. Haave you bought a tuner or just going with a canned map?

Don't get on the throttle, hard and heavy, and you will be fine.
There are several threads going on about the HD SERT and the other types of tuner's for your bike. Also a discussion pertaining to having the dealership or an indy do the dyno. Just do a forum search for these.

We are going with the Fuel Moto Micro EFI tuner as we are not going to do any more mods to the engine except the pipes and air cleaner like you did. Pipes are on now just looking at air cleaners.

Man you are not going to hurt it all, riding it tot he dealer. If you just did a stage 1 upgrade you don't have anymore risk than driving it stock, it will just run lean the same as from factory.
I would not waste money and the wear on the engine for a dyno run with a simple stage 1 upgrade, but that's me.
I would get a good tuner with, auto tune, and skip the dyno.

A dealer dyno will still leave you running lean and hot. They have to comply with Harley and EPA standards and guidelines. A INDY don't. You can't beat a Dyno, an auto tuner for anything after the initial tune might be ok but not to start, IMHO.

Save some dough and get an aftermarket tuner with a map that matches your setup. I think a dyno is overkill, and I've been there, done that. Plus, you can remap if you decide to add other stuff and it is portable. By the way, the HD ones are available both street legal and in Pro Tuner format.

Thank all you guys so much for the info. I did purchase a tuner but was on the fence about just returning it and letting the Harley dealer do their thing. I bought the RCXellerator closed loop fuel system. Only heard or read one review on it but it was a good one. And I'm sure there are opinions on several. Thanks again for the info.

If you had done a custom build, then a dyno is a good thing for a base mapp. However, all you did was bolt on a couple of common upgrades. every tuner out there can match that setup.
The guy before who said you need a a dyno with an auto tune unit is wrong, unless you did some really wild custom build.
I do not really know about the tuner you purchased. I would of either god those xied things, or called fuel moto.
If you are going to up grade your motor in the future, then the tuner is something you want to spend a little money on.
I used a fuelpak that was second hand for a little while and it worked fine, most people hate them. The reason most people hate them is they cannot play around with them.
in the end, I would not do the dyno run.
