When I bought mine, the guy I bought it from didnt even know such a thing exsisted, never mind change it. I was able to retrieve it and change it. Initially it showed up as 11111.....I guess that is stock from factory?

Remember, the FOB has to be present for this to work so there is no way a thief can just go up to your bike and view the code. And since the FOB has to be married to your security system, other FOBs will not work either.
I stand corrected (kind of). Your sequence listed above doesn't work on my '01 Road Glide. However, I tried it on my '08 Deluxe and it did work. I had to have the dealership reset the '01 when I had my 40k service.
