Default Dealer Invoice Price

I'm looking at buying a new/used Heritage Classic.

Is there a website that shows what the dealer invoice price is, like edmunds.com is to cars?

Let me give you a clue when buying from a franchised HD dealer...it doesn't matter what the invoice is.....what matters is whether you want the bike or not. If you do then you pay their price....if not then the next guy will.

You will be far better off trying to negotiate the financing or the accessories or an extended warranty than you are the bike itself...especially coming into spring.

Just my .02 cents.

Thats a good point Hammer. My dealer flat out said that there was no wiggle room on ordering a new bike. I am paying retail. The financing and extras are what you have to negotiate.

Just bought my 2007 Deuce several weeks ago. Dealer was offering free extended warranty and prepaid maintenance with purchase of bike. Said I didn't want either and he took $1700 off the list price.

Mills Harley in Burlington NJ is offering almost all bikes at $1500 offuntil March 3rd I believe.

Judging by what they are doing around here that would be a good deal. What it says on the sticker is what they charge, period.

I agree with some of the others. My wife and I just bought a 07 LowRider for her and got it for $15765 out the door with everything. Basically that is the MSRP with taxes, freight and setup all included. I bought it through a dealer that has three stores and gets about 400 bikes justfor the store where I got it. I talked to a couple of smaller dealers and they said that they couldn't even match that price because they only get about a 100 bikes a year and they need to make a better profit than that on each bike. If you are going to buy new I think it pays to go to a bigger dealer if you want the best price, but you may not always get the best service. I was lucky I got both.

I paid straight retail for my 2007 FLSTF...called a bunch of local dealers in the area and the numbers were almost identical. Differences were in setup fees, how long they gave a discountfor accessories, and how much they charged for an extended warranty. We have a 10+ month riding season here in Florida...this past weekend was 70F+ and the local Harley-Davidson dealer looked like a half-price sale at Walmart! People are getting Spring fever andare coming out of the woodwork! I would think that some of these snow-bound dealers up North would be a little more motivated to move inventory, but I'm not sure.

Good luck...

Steve

Problem with most of the dealers around here is that you almost need a snowmobile or snow chains to get to one. Kinda tough to sell a bike to new riders when there is a ton of snow and ice on the ground.
But how much you wanna bet the sales pick up after March 2 when that new movie "Wild Hogs" comes out? They had a sneak preview of it on saturday night and I understand people who went thought it was funny as hell. Missed that so wesaw Ghost Rider instead.
