I think he is referring to a semi, as he referrd to himself once as a truck driver. Probably several hundred K $ for a new one. $17K for the engine for 1.5 million miles usage doesn't sound that out of line, considering...tp

Yep a new truck will run me $120 K plus. My truck is a 2008 so the cost of a rebuild really makes sense. I did put money aside for such repairs. And I was lucky enough have a great friend loan me a truck while mine is down for two weeks.

Do you do long haul or in-state/local driving? Long haul trucking has always baffled me, as to how someone could stay so aware if his surroundings, continually ready for anything. I am a traveling sales rep and am in the car a lot, and even that can become frustrating after a while...

Long haul. Pretty much Wi to New England states and down to Texas now and then. I grew trucking with Dad and started again after the service. I guess I am used to it.
Was out and about after work, stopped at a convenience store for a pack of smokes and asked the girl working there to take a photo. She happily agreed. She was a cutie. Too bad I'm old enough to be her dad. lol
Working on the next challenge. I have two in mind but I'm wondering how difficult they'll be to do.
