I added one of these to my 2012 Fat Boy Lo and it fit great. I had a full windshield on it first but I still had some head buffeting. By using this new windshield I can now travel at freeway speeds with minimal buffeting. You do have to open the vent to break up the turbulence coming under the windshield. It works for me
Do you have the aux. light kit installed on your FB low?
I really want to try this windshield but i don't want to install the aux. light kit that I think you need to make this shield fit properly.
It seems someone could come up with a spacer kit to be able to install this shield on FLSTF's and make a couple bucks in the process.

To to your local hardware store. I'm sure you'll find something there to fit well enough as a spacer. I just used bronze bushings that I had laying around, but even some 1/8" or 1/4" nipples with the threads cut off would work and look nice.
The full size windshield that was on my Fat Boy was for a bike with aux lights the mounting hardware is a little longer and worked just fine with the new windshield. I do not have the aux lighting on my bike. I don't know if the mounting hardware is sold by itself through HD
Question. I have a FB Lo with the auxiliary lights.
I am having a hard time figuring out if the quick release hardware comes with the windsplitter windshield or not. If not, what part # do I need to order?
How I installed the Windsplitter on 2013 Fatboy Lo
I just installed the Vented Wind Splitter Windshield-57400159 on my 2013 Fatboy Lo.
I did not have the auxiliary fog lamps.
Now Harley did have a fix for the "no fog lamp"
It was called the Harley FLSTF Bracket Kit for 100th Anniv Windshield 58810-02
Unfortunately the only place to find these are on Ebay as Harley discontinued them. That is where i purchased them.
You will also have to order the upper spacers. Harley still produces those. Spacer (2)5885 comes from your local dealer.
So, to do the job you will need:
1 piece -Vented Wind Splitter Windshield-57400159
1 kit -Harley FLSTF Bracket Kit for 100th Anniv Windshield 58810-02
1 package -Spacer (2 pieces) 5885
I bolted everything on per instructions and I was test driving in about 1/2 hour after cleaning everything up.
I have this windshield on my Fatboy and I love it. I had a full windshield installed prior and still had head buffeting at highway speed. This new Windsplitter wind shield has greatly reduced the buffeting
Thanks, karbunkle1952, your suggestion worked perfectly!
I have a 2014 Fat Boy Lo and just bought the Harley-Davidson Wind Splitter Windshield (#57400159) and also do not have the auxiliary lamps.
The p/n for the bracket you talked about is 58270-02, and my local dealership had 3 of them in stock! They didn't have the 5885 spacers, but another local dealership did. It took literally 5 minutes to install.
Thanks again for the helpful post, YOU ROCK!
Yes, I saw it was an old post. I wasn't going to say anything at first, but since it helped me I decided to reply. Incidentally, I found that post a few days ago, and it helped me, so I figured I'd say "thanks" and add the part number for the bracket, in case someone else stumbles on the same old post.
