Use something that is non-abrasive. Most good window cleaners that are recommended for plexi are fine.
On a side note, wipe up and down. The scratches will eventually form no matter what you do and vertical scratches do not show the glare as readily to the rider. My windscreen is almost 20 years and it really makes a difference.
If you're at home, just warm water on a soft rag is fine. For away from home, Plexus, which comes in a spray can, is great stuff. It's a little pricey but no more so than Harley products and a can will last a long time.
Zener is right on. Plexus was developed for aircraft windshields. I carry a can on the road, but at home it's only hot water and mild soap or Harley Sunwash.
Bugslide. I love this stuff. Does a fantastic a job. Ive used this on my wind shield and all other parts of my bike that get hit with bugs or sticky road grime.
And no, I don't always purchases it from my Harley deal. A lady that sues patches and sells some leather products always has it in her store.
If you are looking for truly a home product the above posts are all good ideas.
