Gentleman,
I am having an issue with popping and total loss of acceleration after my bike is rode for about 10 minutes. I have changed the voltage regulator and coil. It will run really rough and pop then kick back in and out. HELP

 

There isn't much anyone here can offer without more details about your bike.

Mods? EFI or Carb? etc etc.

 

Likely a fuel or ignition problem. What else have you checked to date ... carb rebuild, fuel filter, vacuum lines, intake manifold gaskets? You may also may want to consider posting in the EVO section vs. here.

 

I had some problems like your having with a 99 FXSTC , it was the ignition pickup. When I removed the cover the epoxy was soft and looked like it was melting

 

Thats what I'm thinking. It sounds heat related and that ignition pickup is noted for doing just what yours is doing. Good place to start anyway.
