Hey everybody,
I'm so confused...just bought a set of big buffalo 1 1/2: 16" rise apes for my 04 heritage I cant get a straight answer on the cable length I need? The genious at my local HD Dealer sold me +6? Can anyone tell me if they have this set up? and what cable length they used? And if you have a pic of what it will look like that would be great!
Thanks!
I've got 16's also. The folks at Wild 1's told me to use + 10" on the throttle and idle cables. These worked just right. For the clutch cable and the brake line I installed the bars and took a measurement following how I was routing them and bought a length to fit. These aren't really a standard length due to how you choose to route your clutch cable and what kind of brakes you have.I have aftermarket calipers and the linemounts in a different location than stock-- requiring a shorter line than if I had the stockers.
I am in the process of puttiing 16" 1 1/4 apes on my bike and i went 10 over for everything. here is a list of cables i got:
sterling Chromite II clutch cable 0652-2043 (www.zanottimotors.com)
Throttle cable DS-3321
Idle Cable DS-3421
Brake cable 1741-0732
I hope this helps.
I'm in the middle of this project too. My throttle, idle, and clutch are +10" and my brake hose is 50". The hose won't be here till thursday eve. by UPS. Heres a couple pics that I took last week. I've got all the cables and wiring internal done now since the pics. I'll put up more when I'm done. Hope this helps.

Greeetings, I got your name off the HD website and noticed that you had ordered a set of LA Chopper 14 inch Apes.....when you get them I would appreciate an objective review ..I am looking for some 14 inchers and I have a set of Cyclesmiths that come out to 14 inches but they have a 2.5 inch end drop which sort of defetes the purpose of having apes as the actual rise is only 12.5 inches...I don't want to go to 16 inches because of the added leverage but when you get yours installed maybe you could send me a few pictures my address is cparkan@hotmail.com...thanks
Chris
