Yeah, it's a Harley sissy bar. I figured if used a sissy bar, I could mount my T-bag vertically and it could double as a backrest on long trips; which is why I am going to mount the rack to the front. If you got a buddy in the stainless-steel business, you've got it made.
I like them because they are a lot brighter than other braided cables, even the Harley Diamondback cables. They cost less, too. My dealer didn't have the brake lines with the fittings I wanted in the catalog, so they called Magnum directly with the specs I mentioned above. It came to around $70 with my 15% discount I get through their MVP program.

Also Dave did you run into any problems with your clutch and throttle cables?? I am probably gonna have to wait to buy those. I hope I can anyway.
No. I did my handlebars last spring, but didn't replace the clutch and throttle/idle cables until this winter. The clutch cable stuck out kinda far, but it wasn't a big deal.
I looked at the Magnum website and it listed the stock brake line at 45"....was the stock one too long? Sorry for all the questions man, I am gonna have to cruise up to MN this summer and buy you a beer or three!

No problem, I enjoy helping. Beer is always good! The stock one had sections of rigid metal line that didn't conform to the path I was running it through. I came up with the 42" measurement by using my wifes sewing tape measure (ssshhh), and strung it from the master cylinder to the caliper.
once you said 2 feet of snow and i seen your bike on st paul HD showroom floor i knew you were from MN nice bike where r u from i go on alot of bike runs.
P.S. SNOW SUX
I live about 3 miles from SPHD, in Woodbury. I usually stop in there on Saturday mornings and hang out with my old man and his buddies. During my project, I could be seen there 7 days a week!
Small world! I am in Coon Rapids. I also got my 07 RK there. I am about SICK of winter! All of us should get together when the ice thaws and go for a ride!
Quote That's what I was going for. But the color doesn't have a name. It is a House of Kolor concoction, made up of about 4-5 coats of bright purple, 4-5 coats of gold kandy, and 4-5 coats of clear. Plus various hardeners and what not. A buddy of mine painted it for me. Unquote
Awesome looking machine you've got there. I agree with Mimo though...some before/after pics would be nice, for comparison sake. Don't we all wish we had a buddy with the skills/tools to do the custom paint job on our rides...lucky you! I'm jealous...[&:]

Thanks! I added a before pic; it's at the top of page 2. Also, there are a few pics of the progression in my gallery as well.
