Fine Tuning Carb
Im a new member, but Im on the site all the time looking for advice, so I figured I might as well register.
Im having a bit of difficulty finishing up my carb tuning after installing a new cam. I have a 80" evo, Andrews EV27 cam, and an S&S super E carb, and drag pipes (yes, I know they're not optimal). everything else is stock. After initial tuning, I called S&S for some extra support. I'm running a .0295 intermediate, .070 main, and switched from a .040 main air bleed to a .050, per the tech at S&S. everything is working well in the low rpm. When I'm testing my main jet, im doing the 50-70 mph test in 3rd gear. if I roll the throttle, it works fine. if I quickly advance the throttle I get some initial sputtering and then it goes away. when I upshift, it is the same on both accounts. this is only happening at speed, low rpm is fine. I tried to work it out with the accelerator pump, not successful yet. wondering if it could be the air bleed needs another adjustment. i'm a bit fuzzy on the air bleed in general. any help would be greatly appreciated.
