Yeah, crap. That's the CVO tank console. The non-cvo version is completely different. I appreciate the effort anyway.

Disclaimer: I have not yet performed this task.

I would think you just pop out the little piece in the center of the chrome that says Harley Davidson on it.

If you put your finger on it you can see that it is a little loose. Just gently get a pick tool or very small flat screwdriver under it and pop it out. There should be a bolt under there.

Then at the bottom of the tank under the front of the seat there is a torx bolt holding the black cover on.

That's what I've been thinking it is, but I'm worried that I'm going to pry it the wrong way and end up snapping it in half. Unfortunately, I have luck like that...

Just go easy and work your way around it.

Here, I just went out and popped mine off and took a pic for you. I flipped the "cap" over so you could see the 2 clips that hold it in. I just slid a hooked pick tool down in there and pulled up.

What are you gonna do about the two plastic covered stainless steel braided hoses that go into the tank?

I am kind of glad this topic popped up.

Does anyone know if the blackline console will fit on Breakout?

There is a softail service manual that now has the updated information for the breakout. If you own a CVO you would need the softail service manual, plus the CVO supplement service manual. The supplement will address the issues that are different on the CVO. I got a parts and service supplement manual for my CVO. They make the service manuals upon release of bikes. They might not be out on the first few months of bikes, but now they have them for sure.

I have a Blackline, and my coworker has a Breakout. Just went out and took a picture for you. They look identical to me.
