I can go 80 for hours on my Heritage with no vibration. Something wrong there...

I felt the same thing on my FB. I changed the grips to the Kuryakyn Iso grips with the throttle boss and that made a huge difference. Put 2000 plus to Laconia with no problem. The stock grips were just to hard and to thin.

I sold my 2012 Street Glide with 7000 miles on since new and bought a 2012 Fat Boy with 20 miles on the clock.
For me the Fat Boy just suites my riding style better, and I enjoy riding it more.
The only thing that is a negative so far is the amount of heat that comes off the right rear cylinder that i can really feel under my right thigh. On my Street Glide wasn't nearly as noticeable. I am sure you will also notice this difference, but I think you will enjoy the ride!
for the heat problem I have Kuryakyn saddle shields on my fat boy , work great for 70.00 they are not noticeable and easy to install

While I really enjoyed my limited on my road trips, 90% of my riding is local which includes riding to NYC for work, so after taking a test drive on the heritage and the low I decided I liked the low better and that's what I got.

Switched from heavy baggers after 30 yrs to a Deluxe. We love 'em. Our only complaint is the lousy rear tire life of a softail for touring. We get around 9k on a rear tire. We do the Dunlop wide whites at $169.00 a pop. I know people will say switch to the high mileage brands but none out there offer wide whites. Besides, everyone knows that the important thing is to look cool!

Congrats on the new bike. More and more riders are going from full dressers to one of the soft tails especially if there is a frequent passenger. I know a guy who dropped his Ultra almost every time he and spouse pulled into a bar/restaurant parking lot and finally bought the "lowest " bike on the showroom floor. He and spouse are happy as can be but he misses the radio.

Maybe consider one of the handlebar radios with speakers. I've seen some that look pretty sharp. Could be cheaper than a trade. Wind behind the windshield is probably from air coming from below. See if the harley chrome fork wind deflectors work for you bike (less than $100) and if so a set should help quite a bit.

Good luck!

Couldn't resist the beauty of that bike and the way it rides.
I did the same about 3 years ago. I like having a bike that turns heads with it's classic looks, in place of the "Dime a dozen" looks of the current trend. My riding changed and I found the Heritage fills my needs better then an 800+ lb fat girl dressed for the electronics convention, Ill pass.

Congrats on the new bike! I had a 2010 Road King and now have a 2013 Heritage Softail. Since I ride solo 99% of the time I didn't really need the Touring suspension and I enjoy the lighter weight and overall feel of the Softail better.
