I'm not gonna go too tall. 12-14" I think. I am looking at Wild1 Outlawz. I really like the design of them.

Only $330? That's not as bad as the P/N 55800252 on their website, which gives you the CVO riser/clamp with a set of old school apes that are 10.25 high. With the lower riser, it probably puts you at 12 or 13" high. What CVO stuff are you referring to? The kit I bought was P/N 56832-04B which puts you at 12" high (so they say) with a 4" riser that won't work due to skirting (plus, the riser is gloss black but the bars are denim, go figure). I settled on this because I was exhausted in searching and wanted to ride, but this winter it'll probably get changed out to the other kit. Not sure why they say that this part fits the breakout without warning that a different clamp would be required. I like the old school apes a bit better than these new school types, but the ones you picked are a combo of both. I noticed the step down at hte center, too, so you might have some luck with risers but its definitely a crap shoot.

Also, the parts monkey at my dealer indicated that after the dealer show the moco should be putting out more accessories to fit the Breakout, so I'm going to try to be patient for another month.

When you do pull the trigger on something, please revive this thread.

$330 is the price the dealer quoted me for the upper and lower CVO risers. I would just buy the $400 kit, but I don't like the bars that come with it. Seems like a deal could be had if someone wanted the bars.

The Wild1's do indeed step down to 1" so I will need to use their adapter to get back to 1.25". It is hard to find bars I like that are also 1.25" all the way through.

Here is another alternative I found from Todd's Cycle.

I like the shape of the Outlawz better, but these bars are 1.25" through the mounting area.

Either way, I will definitely post what I find.

These look better imo, no welds showing in the bottom corners, plus they appear to be gloss black. I have denim black bars and they stick out like a sore thumb, I wish they were were gloss like the stock bars are and once I figure out the riser thing will pc them gloss if needed. I figured having the center step down to 1" would make your riser choice a lot easier, its just a matter of figuring out what to do with the speedo. I think a top clamp mounted setup would work with an FL style riser that's 2" high (a la Heritage pre-2007), like this in chrome or gloss black, plus moving the gauge to the top would make room for the blackline dash console that was brought up in another thread:

(Giving away ideas here).
Edit: actually, now that I think about it, unless the wiring is concealed somehow, the setup in that link might leave them exposed. More research needed, PITA.

Yeah, I thought about swapping to a dyna or sportster gauge mount, but I do not like how the speedo is in front of the bars. Doesn't look as clean.

I truly think the path I will take is just replacing the lower risers for shorter ones. I just need to find some that fit or have some made/modified.

Also, the Todd's bars will come in gloss or flat, you can choose.

So, I ordered these risers yesterday.

They look to be pretty narrow so I am hoping they will clear the "skirt" on the top part of the stock riser. I will report back when I get them.

Those will not work. The center holes are offset from the holes for the cap. Damn

I know this is a riser thread and not a spacer thread, but I had a friend of mine machine a 1.75" piece of alum round stock down to spacers for me, and I've got two spare sets of 1.25" Breakout spacers left over. I'm selling them for $30 (shipped) which also includes the 4" grade 5 bolts if anyone is interested. PM me here if so. I put 1.5" spacers on mine and they worked out great.

If you're going with a set of bars that step down to 1" at the center, look at the 2013 Heritage riser. It's maybe 2" high and it's clamp holes are straight up like the Breakout's. I bet it'll work.

The trouble with that is that the top of the stock riser is for 1.25" bars. So, I don't think a 1" lower riser and a 1.25" upper would work. Unless maybe I am misunderstanding?

Seriously? We are talking about going to shorter risers, and this isn't the classifieds area.
