Default Breakout Lowering Kit

Wondering if anybody has seen a lowering kit for the breakout if so where without have to spend the $1300 for the shotgun shocks. I dont want to spend that kind of $$ at the moment bc of health reason and being out of work at the current moment.

would this kit work and if anybody has used this kit what are your thoughts

I was thinking about this Friday coming back from Performance HD in Syracuse via route 31 - until a couple of the humps in the road put me airborne off my seat. For me there's just too many rough roads around here to make the suspension any stiffer than it already is.

Well that will certainly wake you up real quick..

I can't imagine that any kind of lowering bolt kit would make the ride 'more comfortable', as they would have potential buyers believe..

What Jackjr said, no way a drop kit will improve your ride unless you consider "stiffer" and improvement. With that, the ladies might like it stiffer

Had the same basic bolts (mine where $16 off ebay). Ride was the same as stock, just shorter travel. Not harsher and certainly not better. All it does is shorten the travel of your shock, not change it's dynamics. Again, you just bottom out sooner.

Will your overall ride seem worse? On rough roads, definitely. Will your average ride down your average road seem worse? No.

Yes the kit you have listed will work. Any set of shocks or lowering bolts for a softail will work for your bike.

But as already stated any time you lower the stock shocks you reduce travel which may make your ride suffer and suspension bottom out more frequently

Bolts will work fine but I agree, don't believe the more comfortable ride part.

Why not go Progressive shocks?

The progressive 422's will drop 1-2". I bet at a 1" drop it still probably rides better than stock and at 1/4 of the price.
