Default Breakout - is something missing?

So I took delivery of a new Breakout this week. After riding it around I brought it home and had a closer inspection of the bike. I noticed that behind the speedo (ie right underneath it), there is no covering. In other words, the back of the speedo is "hollow", you can see the wires coming up into it. Can I confirm with other Breakout owners that this is in fact how the bike comes out of the factory and there are no missing coverings or backing on the speedo housing?
