After some consideration I have decided to post about my recent, less than satisfactory, experience with Hog Deluxe. Hubby and I both needed saddlebags to put on our Deluxes. I also wanted my seats recovered to match my bags ( in brown leather). I had a couple of pleasant phone calls with Mike and Chad who assured me they could do the work. They are saddle makers so I felt comfortable sending my seats off to them once I had chosen the leather color off their Gallery. We were told it would take 2-3 weeks, this was in December. After numerous phone calls and e-mails our stuff slowly arrived 13 weeks later. First my seats arrived, covered in brown vinyl!!! Shortly thereafter my bags arrived, beautiful brown leather, which did NOT match the seats and with a nasty black mark on the side of one of the bags. Hubby's bags finally arrived and were fine - so at least one of us was happy. Our initial phone call to them was answered by Mrs. Shelbourne who was less than pleasant. When we spoke to Chad he seemed suitably apologetic and said he would make it right. He offered to recover my seats if I sent them back. I informed him there was no way I would send my seats back at this point given that our short Maine riding season would be starting soon. We finally agreed that he would redo the tank bib in a color that would match my seats. Three e-mails later I have heard nothing more. Sadly, I cannot recommend Hog Deluxe, although they obviously do good work, they appear unreliable and take far too long. The only thing they did in a timely fashion was charge my credit card! I wish I would have gone with Osprey Limited.
That's too bad, their bags look like top quality. I like their Softail Deluxe Old School Detachable Saddlebags. I am considering these for my bike. Hopefully they will accommodate your concerns and will make you a satisfied customer.
Thank you for the write-up. Word of mouth from real customers has always been the best
advertising out there - no matter which way it cuts. Hope your thread doesn't get taken
down as forum members need to hear things both ways - good and bad.
I'll consider this info when its time to look for new saddlebags that's for sure............. if they make it right in a timely manner, I will consider that also............
Sorry to hear about your issues, nothing is worse than not getting the product you paid for. I ordered the saddlebags and handlebar bag for my Deluxe and they were perfect for me, and I was very happy with them. Hope you find a resolution soon.
I ordered from HogDeluxe over a year ago and am very happy with the quality of the product. But it took over 4 months to get my saddlebags and fender bib. They did make it right by adding the inside bag to my springer style bags when I finally received them. Lucky for me it was during the winter. Hope you get the issues resolved..
Thank you , I was mentioning them to anyone who was looking for swing arm bags with duals.. I will stop doing so until this situation is rectified, things go wrong all the time, but you know a good company/dealer/person when things go wrong, not when they are right.
Good luck and keep us posted and you should never hesitate to post anything like that in the future, this board is for everybody to watch for and help others.
Off and on over the past few years delays like this seem to pop up about them.
When I was riding a Softail I considered their bags but went with a set of Osprey and then later a set of Boss Bags and both were great in their own way. Osprey gret price and very good quality, Boss bags more expensive but IMO a little higher quality and a better mounting system.
I purchased the Hog Deluxe Old School Saddlebags off the Internet and they are very well made and I am impressed with the quality -- although I obviously never dealt with the Company directly.
