On mine the vent line comes out of the tank and runs down the back bone, crosses to the left and hooks to the vent valve low on the left side on the frame, then there is a short line that points to the ground. The valve is supposed to shut in in the event of a tip over to prevent spill/fire and is attached to a metal tab on the rear of the trans where the swing arm bolt goes through, right in front of the plastic inner fender. I had to replace mine as most of it was broken or missing for some reason.
