I'm kinda rehashing a problem I had back a few months ago and have been scratching my head ever since.
I replaced all my signal lights with HD LED's. Since then they have been "all over the pond". One minute they work fine next one side is blinking fast ( either side left or right). Sometimes one light will not blink at all. I have gone over my wiring front and back and have installed a Badlands equalizer with no change.
Does anyone have any advice? What is the best method of tracking down my short?
Appreciate any help. Thanks.
Have you checked for any DTC codes (https://www.hdforums.com/forum/elect...tic-codes.html) and talked to your HD shop where you got the LED's? Don't know anything about badlands products, but I found it best to order all my LED upgrade items from one vendor (Custom Dynamics) so everything's integrated. This way I know the product's designed & tested to function as planned and I have one troubleshooting source too.
Best I can offer is to ensure all your bulbs are tight/greased (dielectric) and the equalizer's not bad. Good luck!
Check your grounds. LED signals will act weird if a ground is bad. If you had a short you would most likely be lowing fuses.
Also, call Badlands. They are good at helping with that stuff. When I installed my equalizer from them my gauge kept resetting. After talking to them they told me to run one of the wires to the equalizer directly off the battery instead of through the harness. Problem solved.
