SoCal- I noticed you switched to springer seat was the factory seat not comfortable or was it purely for a look? Reason I ask is that factory seat looks really comfortable I wonder if it would fit on a train with some minor adjustment.
The factory seat looks good, but it is hard on the **** for any more than 75 miles, I've found. Lots of folks here on the forum have said similar and made a switch. Some had extra gel inserted into the factory seat.
I went with the spring solo and passenger pillion because I found it to work really well for my needs and compliment the retro look of the bike. It'll do 200 miles easy with not pain in the ****. And for the city riding I do on crappy roads here in LA, the springs actually help taking the bumps. My bike is lowered an additional 1.15 inches from stock, so I appreciate the additional suspension.
I still have the stock seat too, but I'm going to hold on to mine. I may have a gel insert put in if I ever decide on a return to stock seating for giggles.
