Default Parade mode shutoff

I have an 09 Softail Springer and it came out of factory with the parade mode and this was one of the early years they did on the softails with the 110 motor. I hate the sound at a stop light and it does me absolutely no good just annoy me at a stop light. The second it turns on I have to ride off in a matter of a few seconds. I really don't need it.

Does anyone know if I can shut this off by myself? My year will not allow the throttle to shut it off so I have to do it in the ECM. My local dealer rubbed me wrong about it when I asked if they can do it and they really acted like they didn't want to, which is bullshit and not up to them to decide (I didn't ask for free either). But anyway, before I force it on them or go to another dealer, is there a way for me to do it myself? Thanks in advance for any replies.

The dealer told me only they can turn it on or off. Then again, dealers have told me a lot of things that aren't true.

Enabling/Disabling EITMS (Parade mode)

Enabled: The EITMS engine cooling feature will automatically activate whenever the vehicle comes to a complete stop and is idling during elevated temperature conditions. When the feature is enabled, it may not activate under cool riding conditions.
Disabled: The EITMS feature is not active under any conditions.

EITMS can be enabled or disabled by performing the following procedure.
  1. Turn the ignition switch to the ON position and push the engine OFF/RUN switch on the right handlebar to the RUN position (the motorcycle may be running or not running).
  2. Push the throttle to roll-off position and hold.
  3. See Instrument Lamps. After approximately 3 seconds, the cruise indicator lamp will either flash green (EITMS enabled) or orange (EITMS disabled).
    NOTE:
A flashing lamp indicates the EITMS setting. A solid (non-flashing) lamp indicates the cruise control setting.
  4. Repeat the procedure as needed to enable or disable EITMS.
NOTE:
The EITMS setting will remain in effect until it is changed by the rider or dealer. It does not have to be reconfigured at each startup.

Thanks, buckinfitch.... these instructions are for the electronic throttle/cruise control?... I had originally tried it with my throttle and it did not work, so upon more research I found out that mine had to be done through ECM.

Is there a way to do go into the ECM with a computer and shut it off?

Also, I have PCIII on my bike. Shouldn't I be able to program that to handle it or does it have to go direct?
