I have the stock sissy bar and seat on my 07. My wife would like a back pad higher up on her back so she doesn't feel like she's going to fall off. I talked to HD and they said there is no taller replacement sissy bar for that seat and that I need to replace everything. We both love the seat and don't want spend that kind of money just to have the pad. Any ideas?
My buddy just bought one of these for his old lady, and she loves it. Not the coolest looking thing in the world, but he says it goes on and off easy for when he rides alone.
I've been thinking about this for a long while myself... I saw a bike like ours on a local classified that had two thick flat bars attached to the back of the stock sissy bar that went up to attach an aftermarket sissy bar pad to. It looks kind of funny at first but makes sense. Hopefully the pics I tried to add will show up.
Call these guys and have them make you a custom sissy at the height you want. I'm going to order a 22" from them and still keep the same stock seat on my '07 Softail Custom. I love that stock seat! Most comfortable seat I've ever sat on.

I think that may be the best solution. Looks weird but it should definitely be functional.

I know you like the seat, but if you would change your seat you can use that sissy bar and put a pad off sportster sissy baron it (P/N 52631-07 from Harley). With a lower seat it places the pad up higher for the passenger. Nice color choice by the way.
