Default Help Identify - Old School

Hey All....I'm trying to identify this bike and am not sure where to post it.

I recently came across this pic in a box of old Kodak slides. It was taken in the driveway of my old house between '70 and '72. That's my sisters ex boyfriend to the right (the owner), and my brother sitting on the driveway. I was about 6 at the time and this bike is where my love of motorcycles comes from.

I want to build a tribute and need to know exactly what it is. Year, frame, suspension, front end, tank, engine, trans, etc.

Any help would be a solid.

Thanks.

Looks like a 60's pan head, custon rigid frame,(Santee ?)Gurder Ft. end, 18" or 19" spool Ft, wheel. Seat is an AEE King Qween. More then likley all or most of the custom parts came from an AEE cataloge.
Gooood luck finding those parts!

Yup.
Custom frame for sure with a durfee-type girder that looks to be 12" over. The rockers look square to me so I can't verify them to be panheads or shovelheads.

I zoomed in by your brothers chin and it looks like the rocker is square...so I'm thinking shovel.

^ wrong. It's deffinately a panhead. The frame has deffinately been molded and a tin type primary common for pans. Deffinately a cool bike tanks look like oe pan tanks that have been shortened or axed. May I suggest a springer instead of the girder for the re-make with a brake. Girders look cool but they ride like **** too much side flex. Transmission is probably a four speed. Can't really tell from the picture but they didn't have five speeds back then oe

Mid-50's to Early 60's Panhead. AEE seat and frame. Durfee 10-12 inch over Girder. Mustang or "Alien" Tank, and a Trailer fender. If I had to guess I'd say the back bone is stock and the down tubes are streched 2-3 Inches.

Have fun, It'll be a great build.

Thanks Mike! you seem pretty sure about what you wrote. How Sure? I did a bit of research on AEE and found a website and a blog but the frames I saw are not exact, and it seems that the AEE frames are like finding gold. What other current frame would work?

Thanks again.

I want to say a D+D (Jammer)frame.Don't know about the girder being a Durfee because of the spring size. I had 2 of them way back when and the spring was bigger.I'll try and dig up pics of a couple of my bikes from the 70's to compare. That was a white knucle ride with no front and mechanical rear break.Cool ride even today.
There was another company at the time and I can't remember the name. I don't know they are close.
