Looking to replace the stock Heritage windsheild with a new 20''Klock Werks Billboard windshield. Anyone have any thoughts on this. Does it really devert the wind as the ad says? Any one have photos with this type of shield on their Heritage. Thanks Billy
I replaced my orginal billboard with a 16" Klock Werks the weekend before last. Since then I have put about 500 miles on teh bike since then and works fine. Now I look over the windshield and the wind does go above my head at the same time. The Werks is wider than the orginal windshield.
I replaced a standard 18" H-D windshield (quick-detach) with a Long Ride Shields 16" "Recurve", which looks similar to the KlockWerks Billboard "Flare".
The reason I did was because at 5'8", I found that the top of the windshield was directly in my line of sight. I was always either ducking or sitting up to see around it. Very annoying.
I can tell you, even though it's 2" shorter it offers the same wind protection as the larger 18" due to that curled lip - it throws the air further over my head than a straight one would.
It definitely works as advertised, so I'm sure you would get similar results with the KlockWerks...
Also, at first I was a little concerned that he curvature might cause "distortion" when looking through it.
Not an issue at all - the curve is very subtle, so no distortion...
