Seat Removal
This is probably a complete noob question; but, to remove the seat on my 05 FatBoy, the screw holding the seat strap on is a hex screw, a T40 hex key fits it, but it will not loosen at all with the little hex hand tool I have. I was going to either buy the T40 attachment for a drill or a socket wrench, but I wanted to make sure I am not missing something before I try either one. Any suggestions on what to use?
Thanks.
Matt

I would buy a socket set for both hex head and torx. But if you are just looking to get it loose with the tools you have, put a pipe on the end of it for leverage. This is of course assuming you are using a standard allen wrench.

Buy a Torx socket set and a Hex socket set. You can get a set of Stanly sockets of these types for under $15 each at Wal-Mart. Obivously there are other brands like craftsman, but they will be more expensive.
In answer to your question, just put a little torqu on it and it will loosen, however make sure you have the right size torx socket, b/c you don't want to strip it.

They probably used Lock-tite on it so it may need a little bit of heat to soften it.
See if you have or can borrow a big old fashioned soldering iron.
Put that on it for a minute of two and then try the socket.
If it doesn't come loose put the iron on a little longer.
Sooner or later it should come loose, you just need a little patience.

Just wondering, are you changing seats or just taking it off for cleaning etc. If it is the later you don't have to remove the strap from the frame just undo the snap and slide the seat through the strap. If you are changing seats orwant to remove the strap permanently all previous post apply.
