I'm logging 300-400 miles per 14 day period, the vast majority of which are on the interstate (say 90%). The remainder is city riding.

I'm 5'11" and have a 32 inch inseam, so I don't need to be higher or more forward I don't think.

I think my plan will be to try the H-D branded stuff at the dealer and then go from there. I don't want to lay out a lot of money (Corbin, looking at you) for something I'm not sure will be right and might not be returnable.

Good idea. Good luck.

I am actually getting interested in the Danny Grey b-crack, but I like the way the spring seat looks and works on my Slim. I ride everyday in the city, my bike is lowered, and those springs actually help a little.

I had the same problem as you and did not like the feeling of being blown off the back with the stock seat. I got the Corbin seat almost right away and love it - no back rest. I just rode 250 miles on it very comfortably. I had them do a tuck and roll stitch pattern rather than the flames. I think it looks great although it obviously is a bit bulkier than the stock seat but that's why it works! I have a 31" inseam and didn't notice much in the way of change in position. Oh and I love the way the Corbin closes up that funny gap that the stock leaves at the front.

I ordered a Le pera bare bones. It is the only model they make for the slim. I know that they aren't made for really long rides but it should be better than the stock seat. Since I wanted the diamond stitch pattern I had to order it straight from Le pera and it won't get here until the end of the month but when it does come I'll post a review of it.

Does anyone have an update with a review on a Lepera Barebone Seat. I currently have the Mustang Wide Tripper and dislike the seat on my seat. It push me forward and has a hard ridge on the back portion of the seat. I don't want to order another seat, dislike and get stuck with another seat.

I'm either looking at ordering either a
Danny Gray Buttcrack Seat w/ pillion
Lepera Barebone Seat w/ pillion
Drag specialty Solo Seat w/ pillion

The last two days I did about 800 miles and still like my Danny Gray seat. Recommend the solo for sure but cant say anything about the pillion option....

I just went through this same decision 4 months ago. Stock seat was causing lower back pain at highway speeds.

Went with the Mustang Wide Tripper solo with backrest. I know, I know, you said no backrest... I was the exact same way. My riding buddies all made fun of me too UNTIL THEY RODE it. Now they are believers.

Don't get me wrong... I still think they are ugly and a bit too 'old man', especially on a bike like the Slim. But I literally can ride until my tank is drained with 0% back problems. That alone is a miracle and the reason I'm keeping it on. And, you can always slide the backrest out and store in your solo bag (if you have one) when you park.

I did ride a couple times without the backrest... and it's definitely a bit better than stock as it does rise up more in the back. Anyway, may be worth considering. Here is a pic:

Mustang day tripper solo w/ diamond stitch works for me - it is very similar in style to the original and adds support and comfort. My butt and back no longer suffer; two thumbs up!

I have the same seat on my Slim w/o the back rest, night and day difference from the stock seat. I just wish I got the back rest! live and learn

I currently own the Mustang Wide Tripper seat and it doesn't fit me well. I think I might replace it soon. I order a Danny Gray Buttcrack solo and the Drag specialties solo. I didn't order the Lepera Barebone because it doesn't look comfortable from its very small width of 10.5 inches.

I never seen any picture or comments on Drag Specialties seat?
1. Are they any good?
2.Who make the seats for Drag specialties?

I will upload some photos and give my opinion on the two other seat once I get a little time in them. It might take a while depending on the weather and the weekends.

Some spec
Mustang Wide Tripper is 12 inches wide.

Buttcrack Solo is 11.5 inches wide.

Lepera barebone is 10.5 inches wide.

Drad specialties solo is 12.5 inches wide
