Default Tin compatibility for Heritage - replacing tin vs repainting

I have a 2000yr model Heritage.

The paint is a dark green with black accents - and I don't like it.

I can either PAINT it, or was thinking of just buying a set of already painted Tins, and re-seling mine (cheaper/faster/easier w/less down time).

The question is: what yrs fit?

I found a killer deal on an 07 set, but I'm worried it wont fit.

Anyone?

Related: anyone wanna trade?

Off hand I'd say Yes.. but I am not sure, thinking 2000 up should be the same???

In all the yrs I've been here and all I've read I only remember a few Heritage members that change out there tins, Lots of paints jobs though.

U could find the answer just looking for New OEM fenders in a catalog and cross reffing them or maybe even on Ebay for used stock ones.

Is it like this color????

or this one, its call (suede green pearl) I don't remember seeing this color

Actually thinking if U havent had the bike long, U might give it some time.. Paint color does grow on us and at first look I like it better than some other colors I've seen.

Also U might just add a little custom work to them and they could look killer pretty easy as Black and Green together is a great combo..

Either way good luck.

Looks like (according to more searching and a local vtwin shop) that they might fit... but efi vs carb tank might be an issue..

At least IMO it looks a lot better than the Suede Pearl green.

I agree, some greens I don't/wouldn't like.
But, fact is I could probably live with Ur green since it is that dark and Two tone.

Thinking is probably looks Black at night. Still Ur bike, Ur choice.

Might just ride her as is a yr or two and trade her, thus saving the $2K or more it'll cost to paint and put it toward a newer bike.

That was going to be my comment as well. In the early 2000's the same bike could be made with EFI or a carb, so even parts from the same year would not fit all bikes.

solid advice.

i went and looked at new Road Kings and Street Glides yesterday...

Dealer is quoting me a full sticker on the new one against "open market value" on the heritage...

I'm not real sure how much folks are really paying for NEW bikes these days, surely not retail...?

When the new model comes out, Yes some dealers are getting MRSP.. Some also give anywhere from $500 to $2k of free parts. Just pends on where U buy..

Usually any left overs from last yrs can go at a lot better deal, Like the 13's should be now.
