Primary chain case drain plug.
I am in the process of changing all my fluids for the bike to sit this winter. I get to my chain case drain plug and nothing I have fits it. I looked in my manual and it doesn't state what tool to use. Can anyone help me out real quick? I have everything else opened up and draining as I speak. I would like to get this finished today and soon too. I have a TON of **** I have to do before I go back to work tomorrow and this stopped me in my tracks. I can't figure out why nothing I have fits. I've changed it before with no issues!! Thanks in advance for whoever helps me out.
I don't know what year the change was made, but my 2002 Softail has a pipe thread drain plug while my 2011 Limited has a more conventional drain plug (same as engine and trans).
On the Softail (pipe thread) mine is a 3/16" allen.
As for your predicament, can't you just look at the plug to determine what tool is necessary? That is certainly easier and more certain than asking here.

I wasn't able to get my head under there far enough to be able to see it. I will be getting a small mirror when I go out today, like a dentists would use. Thanks guys I finally got it. It was the 5/8 for oil and the 3/16 allen for the primary. They were in way to tight. I will also be picking me up a torque wrench today too since mine is gone, like all my other tools are gone. A stinking fluid change and I am into it for an 1 1/2 hours already. Uhggg. My tools will be in my bedroom from now on, box and all. By the way, I use the scavenger but I never really paid attention to how much old, black and filthy oil that gets left behind. Today I measured it because some have said that they do not believe that much oil was left behind. I pumped out 30 oz. of crap before it went clean. I just got back from about a 50 miles ride, pulled the dipstick when I got in my garage and the oil was still crystal clear and clean. That don't happen when you do not do a 100% clean oil change. Fresh fluids are done and she is ready for her winter nap.
