Default Springer on FXST

I have been going back and forth with the idea of putting a springer front end on my 2004 FXST. Is this something I would need to have made, or could I use one off another model? Haven't checked prices either way, but thought one off of another model would probably be cheaper. Any thoughts?

I seriously considered doing that to a new Slim before i found my cross bones.

I'd suggest you find a good indy to do the work if your not going to do it yourself and go with http://www.paughco.com/2008-catalog/...-springers.pdf
It will be a ton cheaper than harley unless you find a good deal on a used harley springer.

Not sure where in central Texas you are but if you need a good indy near denison TX i'd recomend Pro Custom cycles. Good people reasonable prices been around a long time.

You might want to read this guys review of the Paghco too https://www.hdforums.com/forum/dyna-...r-swapout.html

Not the same bike but give you an idea of why it's worth it to buy a quality springer ......

I have a stock springer front end sitting on my bench. I pulled it off of a 2004. It is the fx springer model. Has about 28k on it. The front end has the burly springer lowering kit installed already. Chrome is in beautiful shape. I pulled it off when I swapped to the wide glide. The front end has the fender, caliper and risers. I used the wheel so you would have to find a front wheel. I also have 16" burly 1.25" apes. If interested pm me and we can figure out a price.

I have a picture of the front end on the bike before everything was changed over. If interested I can get you better pics.

find a used hd springer and do it yourself, with basic tools.

Also note, the FL Springers are 2" shorter than the FX ones, finally, if handling , strong front brakes (or you ride in dirt roads) is important to you, stick to the tubes

here's an idea. a stock fx springer is gonna run about $2500 with wheel, fenders and tire plus bearings. you can buy a used fxsts for less than $7500 and swap front ends then put it on CL or ebay for $7ish. look at your net cost.
risky but ballsy nonetheless. Or buy an acme springer but cost is up there but is USA made.

I just posted the front end in the classifieds last night in the softail parts section. You are unable to receive private messages so I couldn't contact you through there just to let you know. Check it out and get back to me.
