Well seems like I can't keep talking myself out of doing this so here it goes. After following Rollinburnout's thread i think I'm sold.
I wanna drop my old wheels and go with fat spoke wheels with a 23 up front. I know I'm gonna need a new front end if I do this. So I'm looking at these HHI wide glide trees. I know a lot of guys here are running them so hopefully I'll get some replys.
1- I have a 3 inch tank lift on my 08 rocker. I wonder if the trees are going to hit my tank. How much wider are the wide glide trees than the stock trees?
2- I have BR custom apes that I plan on keeping for a while (since they cost me an arm and a leg lol). I don't know if on wide glide trees the risers mount further apart than they do on the stock rocker front ends. If they do then I don't think ill be able to use my bars.
PM sent Alain. Mounting is the same on both but no tank lift. JoJo might be correct that a 1" might work but it would be really close. Looks like I've got a little less than an inch before it hits but I haven't bolted the tank in place yet either.
Stock forks will work with a 23?!? Holly cow that's freaking great news!!! Looks like this project is gonna be close to $1000 cheaper than what I expected !! Lol. I'll take that type of news any day and twice on Sunday!!
Thanks again burnout.
Keep chuggin on that project ! I'm vicariously living through you while I save up for mine.
