Default EVO Springer Question

Ok, so I own a few Harley's and (only one evo) on most of them (non evos)when I'm down shifting into first gear you pull in the clutch and push down a few timespan the shifter to get to first and know your in first cause the lever stops going down when you have arrived at first gear. Now with my Evo Springer it doesn't stop doing down, it acts like there is an endless about of gears to shift into lol. I know that once a press down at least 5 times I'm in first but it never stops going down once I'm there. If that all makes sense.

The bike runs and drives fine but is this normal for an EVO?

I don't downshift like that. I DS as I slow down, I don't even go into 1st unless I come to a complete stop.
She'll take off fine in 2nd if I am rolling the least bit.

As far as when I do hit 1st.. she's solid at that time, no more feeling like there's another gear.. Same as when I am in 6th. At times I try to shift into 7th... Which of course there isn't any....

MY evo sportster is the same as your evo and my twin cam is the same as yours, meaing a solid tsop when you hit first. The sportster you can keep pushing down on the shifter even in first, It dosent do anything but the shifter will move. Its normal and nothing to worry about. I was actually suprised a month ago when I got my first twin cam softail that it stopped when I hit first.

Is it normal for an Evo?

Three types of transmissions have been used in conjunction with the Evo engine.

So it depends on the year of the bike whether it is normal or not.....

The `99 Softail 5 speed uses the same shifter drum configuration as the earlier 5 speeds, so the movement of the shifter on your bike is normal (I should have just put this info in my previous post...)
