Samson cholo question
Is there any tips on how to get the left side nut on when installing the exhaust on the left side. I have it tight but there is still a gap wondering how everyone else tightened it down
Technically everyone should have some gap. The exhaust flange isn't supposed to touch the head it just holds the exhaust tube end with tension in the exhaust port against the crushed gasket. You will get different gap with different gaskets...the thin SE gasket allows the flange to get pretty close to the head. I have about a 1/16 gap. If I had the stock cone gaskets it would be more but its harder to start the flange nuts sometimes so I like the SE gaskets myself. You also want even gap which means you have both nuts threaded on about the same amount. this keeps the tube end square in the exhaust port which is especially important with the thin SE gaskets. If the tube end is not square in the port you may get a leak with the thinner gasket. That is why you tighten from the front to the back.
All this said, if the flange did touch the head on one side its still ok as long as you don't have a leak...that's all that really matters.

Yeah it is not even as I could not reach the other side to well the exhaust is tight, how would you be able to tell if you had a leak sorry if that's a stupid question. With all the people running cholos I'm sure I can't be the only one that had this issue.
