anyone have pics of a raked front end....preferably a night train.
If so can you show us the pic, tell how much rake involved and let us know how it affected the handling of the bike.
Thanks...and please if you don't have a raked bike don't bother telling me how bad it is to do it. I want to hear from those who have it not those who have read about it.
Here is a pic of my train with 2 over tubes and seven degree trees. It really didn't handle like all the nea sayers said it would! It was a little heavier at slow speed but notmuch of a differenceand I did get a very slight speed wobble but that was at 105 and at that I do mean slight.I was prepaired to fall over if I was going under 10 and to be shook off like a rag doll at 70 like everyone said it would do butthat was not the case. I ran this setup for about 7000 miles and still here to talk about it. I wanted a little more rake so I am in the middle of raking the frame to 39 degrees with 4 over tubes. With this setup I will be at 3.7 in trail andthere should be no problems with high or low speed. If you are just cruising around the 7 trees are just fine!
I don't have a pic yet, but I just finished mine with 3* cups and 3* trees. RB racing did the math on their computer and with 2" over tubes I have 5.01" trail. I rode it all weekend and it handles just fine. No wobbles up to 100 or so and just a bit slower steering at crusing speeds, but not really noticeable. I will try and get some pictures up this week.
It was also lowered 1.75 in the rear with progressive 413 shocks - nice stance now.
