96.7 is the actual cubic inch displacement. Aftermarket cams may be installed, given the other enhancements you've mentioned. You may find cam information listed somewhere on the dyno sheet if you have one available.

Rarely will a motor actually come out to a whole number as far as cubic inches go. For example my 107 is actually like 106.85 (just making numbers up for examples). There would be no practical difference between a motor that is 96" or 96.7" provided everything else is the same. As far as having cams or not that is a easy one to figure out by either running a compression test or just popping the cam chest cover off and inspecting your cams. One more option is to do a dyno pull and see where your numbers are and what your curve looks like, big numbers or a curve that is significantly different than a stock bike then there's a good chance you have a cam.

The last option and my personal favorite is to contact the previous owner and ask him, or if purchased from a dealer talk to them and they can pull up the bikes history in their system.

Get a dyno done on it.. sometimes they have them for $20 at shows or on a dealer sales days.
Get and keep the dyno sheet, then post it in here.

We can pretty much tell if she's got cams from the sheet print out of TQ and HP.. Won't know which ones, but U can tell..
