Whitewalls on a heritage softail?
I have whitewalls on my '95 Heritage. And the best product I've found to keep them clean is oxyclean. As simple as using soap and water so the "keeping them clean" debate for me is moot.

I prefer the look of whitewall tires on a Heritage, Deluxe or similar old school style bike. The whitewalls bring everything together and make the bike look right. I use the tried and true Bleche-Wite to keep them clean. Works great!

You want white walls and it will eat at you until they are on your bike. Just do it.
White walls are not at all a pain to clean. Simple Green on a Magic Eraser and they will be like new.
