Newbie with a dumb question..
Hey guys,
I introduced myself in the new members section and am excited to be a member of the community.
A quick recap - have been riding dirt bikes since a child but only started riding actual motorcycles in 2008. My first bike was a nicely modified Yamaha V-Star 650 but Harleys have always been my first love.
I recently bought a really nice 2011 Scarlet Red Rocker C and I need some assistance with understanding one of the upgrades/mods. The original owner had HD put on V&H large radius 2 in 2 bikes, a stage one air cleaner and a screaming eagle super tuner with dyno when he ordered the bike.
What exactly does the SE super tuner do?
I understand it improves performance but in what ways and what do you guys think on this mod?
Is the SE super tuner combined with the stage one air cleaner a balanced fit (i.e. are they good match for max performance)?
he bike runs awesome and has lots of power. But then again, I did not ride the bike prior to the mod and the only bike I have to compare it to is a 650 V-Star.

The super tuner allows the user to download a canned map from harley to match the mods that have been done. To make the canned map meet the requirements of you bike, you attach the super tuner to the diagnostic port and do data runs while riding. Download the saved data and use the supplied software to modify the VE tables to reflect what your bike is actually doing. This will enable the ECM to properly compute the required fuel to obtain the asked for A/F ratio.
The software allows changes to the timing tables, VE tables and A/F ration tables. There are also numerous other tables that can be changed to fine tune starting, decal, accel behaviors.
Hopefully, they gave you the tuner interface (orange plastic box with printing of "super tuner" on it. If not, you won't be able to do anything. If they did, you will have to download the software from harley's download site and install in a windows computer.

Thanks guys. Appreciate the responses to my amatuer question.
I bought the bike from the original owner and he was nice enough to ship most of the original stuff. He included the dyno sheet and SERT so I do have it if need be. I like the way it runs, the pipes, etc. so hopefully I will not need to use it.

Ur previous owner did U a big favor by choosing one of the best tuners their is.
The SEpST is not just for a down loads, U don't even need a tuner for that. Its for Totally tuning U motor and has over 2,000 adjustments.
In the right hands of a good Tuner (wrench) and a good Dyno machine, it will tune Ur motor to run at its PEAK performance. (every motor is different)
Used with just STG 1 added U won't see a big improvement in power, (average 4 - 8 on both) but can be anywhere from 3-10 more HP & TQ, depending on what U install.
What it will do is, U'll have a Smoother running, Cooler running, better starting engine while also getting better fuel mileage.
And if U ever add another set of pipes or cams it can be easily tuned again to get top performance again.
