I'd like to get my stock 03 Fat Boy bars slightly back and/or slightly higher. Specifically, I'd like to find a quick, easy solution without changing the bars, controls, and cables. Is it possible to do this by swapping out the 2" standard risers with 2.5" or 4" inchpullback or 3" standard risers with a riser change only? If so, has anybody used any specifc risers that allow this change that they could recommend?
I'm using the Softail Deluxe risers (3.5" pullback I believe), and it made a huge difference in rider comfort..
Easy to change out, and you can use the stock cables. I have the stock bar, rotated up slightly, and now I can lean back in a comfortable position and the grips are right where they should be located...
I replaced the Fatboy stock risers with HD's Softail Standard's stock risers and the only mod required was a gentle grooming of the front brake line where itattached to the front fork, which was easily done by hand.
I've got the 4" pullback risers from Kuryakyn. Did it myself. Was surprised at how easy it was. Just dive in. No cable modifications necessary, although I think I turned the brake line clip 180 degrees down on the fork cover. You'll see when you put it back on. This mod made the biggest difference in the ride I could ever imagine.

Ditto for me. Used the 4 1/2 pullback risers and it is like a different ride. I have stumpy arms and legs and the lowering kits and risers are a lifesaver.
Newbie here but I will share what I have. I put on the roadking high back bars. I didn't need to put new cables and it allows you to sit back, not forward. They look good and allow for comfort. Sorry but I have not taken pics yet.
I switched out the risers on my 2000 Fatboy tonight for a set from a softail custom â Itâs a nice change â they seem to be about a 4â pullback - Still not sure if itâs all that I want or not though â Iâve got to put some miles on it before Iâll really know â This was an easy do â Had them switched out pretty quick with no issues â stock cables, wires, and brake line are all fine -
I put 4 1/2" Kuryakyn pullbacks on mine. Took about an hour from start to finish. Made it feel like a whole new bike, and didn't have to change cables, bars, etc. One of the best mods I've made to her so far. Sure helped my poor decrepit old back. Looks sharp too, I think.
