It comes with a bracket that runs under the back of the seat.

Call me crazy, but I am using 3M Snap Lock Velcro instead of Danny Gray's mounting hardware.

I just modified the bracket to go the other way and I fasten the seat from the bottom now.

I am looking into getting a Danny Gray Seat for 2014 Breakout because I don't like the looks of the stockseat, nor the height of it. I know you say that the seat make you feel like you sit more into the bike... my question is does it actually sit lower on the bike... I am 5'2 and have issues planting on the bike, truthfully mostly because of the wide primary drive on the left side of the bike but any help getting closer to the ground I wouldn't mind.

I'll be able to let you know the answer to that as well - mine just shipped from Danny Gray and should be here in a few days, depending on how quickly UPS can get it across country..

I don't think it makes you sit any lower. I can say after riding with it for a few months that it was a good purchase. I can ride for hours with no pain in the ***.

THANK YOU for posting this. i just got my '14 breakout a couple of weeks ago and one of the things i don't like about it is the stock seat. i've been looking for an alternative and this looks absolutely perfect. I'll be ordering mine just as soon as i can.

Hey 24v

First I wanna start by saying what a beautiful bike you have, very very nice mods you did there, one of my favs in the forum.

My questions, I'm not sure if you have answered them already in another post, but they are so many to go through, so I'm sorry if you have to answer same questions again.

With your new seat, I know they specifically cut it short by the tank, do they do that for anyone now, if I wanted to order the same seat or they just did it for you upon your request?

How tall are you maybe that would help me with the seat and ape hangers configuration, I'm 5'10" and considering same seat and bars combo.
I saw that you had the ape hangers when you had the stock seat. With the new solo seat, which was better from a seating and reaching perspective? Is it too far of a reach? Is it too high? I was considering a 10' maximum 12' but 14' was wondering about it.

Hope you can help me, thanks.

Is there a separate pillion seat available? I don't want to go with the massive 2-up seat they sell. I asked this question in the "Everything Breakout" forum but I probably should have asked it here.

I just responded to another thread about taking the seat to a custom upholsterer. You can use the padding you pick out, I HIGHLY recommend the Gelfoam, the exact shape you want and finished in the material you want. You can also follow the process much closer in order to make changes if needed. I had my seats and backrest done and I doubt it cost me any more than ordering all of them.
